Mark Luecke, Managing Director, CapitalValue M&A
Mark Luecke, Managing Director of CapitalValue M&A, has previously provided executive management and financial consulting to large Fortune 500 companies and small entrepreneurial businesses throughout his career. Mark is also the President of The Silvercloud Companies, a private equity firm in Denver.
Mark started his career as a Certified Public Accountant for one of the largest accounting and financial consulting firms in the country. As a senior consultant, he advised clients in a number of areas including merger and acquisition planning and legal tax structuring alternatives. Mark joined one of his clients, Northwestern Growth Corporation, to focus on a consolidation strategy in the communications industry. At Northwestern Growth, he performed financial and operational due diligence on hundreds of regional communication businesses and completed over 25 transactions in excess of $1 billion in annual revenue.
Subsequently, Mark joined the operating company of the communications business, Expanets, and served in a number of management capacities including business development, operations and sales and service general management. While managing business development, Mark started a new business line as a national agent for network service providers that required the negotiation of more than a dozen strategic partnership agreements in less than a year. This new business line generated in excess of $100 million of revenue for the network service providers and was the most profitable revenue stream for the company. As Vice President/General Manager, Mark developed and executed several sales and service improvement strategies that improved client satisfaction by more than 20 points, improved cash management metrics by more than 35% and improved operating margins while increasing sales.
Expanets was acquired by Avaya in November 2003, where Mark served as an Area Services Vice President for field services in the Southwest Region of the United States as well as a Global Services Vice President for technical service centers around the world until joining Silvercloud in October 2005, managing a team of 1,000 technical service professionals, an expense budget of $100 million and providing global service delivery for more than $1 billion in annual revenue. At Avaya, Mark successfully managed the integration of Expanets’ operations, achieved the top position for field service operations, improved quarter-over-quarter services revenue and reduced operating expenses by more than 20% through restructuring several operational support functions.
In addition to his work, Mark enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, competing in Ironman-distance triathlons (including the Ironman Florida, where he beat fellow Principal Chris Younger by a half hour, and Ironman Wisconsin, where he dragged Younger 26.2 miles through the marathon portion to help him finish!), golfing, hunting, fishing and community interests. |
